I was so excited to see this book at the library. Not only does it fit right in with W week... but it's also by Doreen Cronin who also wrote my favorite Kids book Dooby Dooby Moo.
Diary of a Worm is really cute. The humor in it was funny for both Hudson and Craig and I. I give it 2 thumbs up. Quite adorable.
So on to our craft...
To go along with Diary of a Worm Hudson made a spaghetti worm picture.
Materials:
- cooked spaghetti noodles that are warmish
- a piece of paper
- brown paint (optional)
Place the noodles randomly on the paper.
Some can be wiggly, some straight. I think a few of Hudson's are even poking their heads up.
We used brown paint to splotch some "mud" onto our noodle worms.
Voila lovely worm art:)
We'll just pretend we don't know what happened with the leftovers :)

We have this book. A friend got it for my kids a while back and we even have finger puppets with it. I will have to remember this craft for when we are on the letter "W". Great messy fun!
I remember reading Diary of a Worm before. I love the idea of using the pasta to make the worms.

My daughter loves holding worms in her hand. I bet she'd love painting craft worms, too!
I have to look this book up - it sounds great. We don't do "food for art" here on principle, but I can see us trying something like this with white yarn.
