What Program is Your Child In?

This is a question I have gotten often. I shrink every time I am asked. Well... mumble mumble I just don't like any of the ones in my town....mumble mumble... I home preschool.

Seriously!  I need to get over it!

The LORD is my light and my salvation—
       whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

Home schooling is the call that God has placed on my heart.  If this is what His plan is for my life, my family, my ministry, then why would I be ashamed?  Why would I worry about what others think?

I am a committed servant of the Lord teaching my children at home.  My children don't need some other adult at a program to teach them how to play, sing songs or (gasp!) socialize.  I am perfectly capable of doing that in partnership with God.

I need to be bold and stand tall knowing that I am doing the work God intended for me.

What program is my child in?

The program of being discipled at home with his family who love him.

Repeat after me Sarah:

I home preschool!

I understand how you feel to a certain degree. I am not ashamed to proudly state that we home preschool and that we plan on homeschooling. I find here it is very exceptable, most people do it! The questions that I cringe are the ones like what about socializing. Great post, hang in there, there is nothing to be ashamed of you are doing just what God has commanded you to do! Be proud of it as not every parent out there are able to homeschool even when they so desire.

My current favorite is "so, he'll go to Kindergarten next year?". Yes! I just don't say where! I need to get over it, too!
