Have you tried Geocaching? We just tried it again for the first time in a long time over the weekend. The only thing you need is a GPS and the urge to go on an adventure. It doesn't even have to be a big adventure. The one we found was within walking distance from my house.
Here's the gist of Geocaching:
Using GPS coordinates found on
Goecaching.com you hunt for a treasure(cache).
When you find it you write in the log book and then go back to
Geocaching.com to log that you found (or didn't find) the cache.
Here we are hunting for the treasure.
Yay we found it!
There are tons of great lessons for your preschoolers to learn through Geocaching.
*Following directions
*Having a purpose for your activity.
*Focusing on the task
*Observing nature
*Working as a team
I highly recommended this recreational activity to young families. (Just be sure to choose the really easy caches to hunt for).

P.S. The winner of my Crayola Sidewalk Crayons giveaway is:
