To Tell the Truth...

On Wednesday one of our cats passed away.  I discovered him under my car (Note: I did not kill him that's just where he chose to die.) Hudson had named him Jammie Georgie.
Now my children did not know that JG was gone. We could have easily said nothing about it... taken an easy way out and said that he ran away.  I was tempted to do both of these. then my own words came back to me. "Hudson it is always best to tell the truth."
So when daddy got home from work we told Hudson (and Meadow who didn't seem all that mournful) that their loved pet had died.
Were there tears? Sure. But there was also a very sweet time of remembrance.  Remembering how Jammie Georgie would follow us on our walks through the trees on the property like he was a little hunter.  Remembering how he would sneak into the barn with us when we went out to collect eggs.
God blessed this moment of truth. Not only with our precious talk but with an example from myself to my son that even when it's hard... tell the truth.

Sorry to hear about your kitty... I don't envy you this conversation, but it sounds like you handled it well.

That is sad, I lost my cat early last year and I am pretty sure it has been kidnapped as few of my neighbors lost their Persian cats too.

On another note, I am your private swap partner for the ribbons, laces and etc swap. Found you through Swap-bot. I am wondering have you received my package and have you mailed yours.
I have sent a message through Swap-bot but haven't heard from you.

I would appreciate your reply please.

Cheers

What a sweet time and a great example for your children (and us). So sorry to hear about the loss of your cat.
