What We Sent Our Compassion Kids... October

Today is Compassion Sunday!!!

Ok so it's been a bit since I last wrote a post about what we are sending our Compassion kids...  It's not that we've sent nothing over the last 3 months... but life did get the better of us and time flew so the convenience of sending an E-letter with a photo attached became our communication method for a little while... it's fast and easy, but you know it doesn't exactly include my kiddos.  But now we are back at it... and we have a pretty fun Christmas package that we are sending!

Our Christmas package includes:

Hopefully it all arrives in time...

What We Sent Our Compassion Kids... July

This month we had a lot of fun putting together some paperbag puppets  with printables from Yellow Bliss Road.

Since we recently celebrated Canada Day, we included these stickers and postcards in our package.
I wrote a little note on the back of the postcards...

Do you sponsor a Compassion child?  What do you send?

What We Sent Our Compassion Kids (May)

For May we did something a little zany!  Our Compassion kids will be receiving these designer spectacles...
Aren't they great?  You can get the template for these beauties over at Picklebum (what a cute blog name right?)

Each kiddo also drew a picture with a note on the back to send.
We included some color by number printables.
And as usual a quick letter or note to each child.
Do you sponsor a Compassion child?  Do you send letters to them?  What do you include?

What We Sent Our Compassion Kids (April)

With Mother's Day coming up next month we wanted to send a little something to our Compassion Kid's mothers.

So Hudson folded an origami tulip for each mother... I wrote out a card with a (hopefully) encouraging message...

Then we sent a letter to our kids... an origami frog and an ocean themed coloring page since we had recently been to the Vancouver aquarium.

(not pictured) Meadow drew a picture of herself looking at the fish at the aquarium...

I won't go into any details here... but please be in prayer for one of our Compassion Kids.

What We Sent Our Compassion Kids (March)

Ok I get seriously excited about creating our once a month packages to send to our Compassion kids... and so do the Scott kiddos...
This month we are sending off a fun maze...

Some beautifully decorated Easter eggs... colored by Meadow

I love these origami butterflies and Hudson is a pro at folding them...
and of course a letter...

What We Sent Our Compassion Kids... February

My kiddos are so excited about our Compassion Kids writing day and this is only our second scheduled one! So quick recap on what's going on... the 6th of each month we have set aside to write to the children we have sponsored through Compassion International.

This month we are sending off a package about where  live... We included a map of Canada and a couple of postcards:

Each of the older children did a drawing of their favorite place in our town:

And a letter written on beautiful free printable stationary.

What are your favorite places in your town?  What are your letter writing ideas?

What We Sent Our Compassion Kids... January

We have set a goal to send mail to our Compassion International kids on the 6th of each month... I have it marked on my phone calendar... and hopefully a monthly post here of what we sent will go a long way in keep us on track with this endeavor...

So here's what we sent in January:

First up Hudson and Meadow painted these Valentines Templates... (I have been itching to have them do this project since I pinned it months ago).

We also sent a snowman building activity:
And a letter on some heart stationary:
What do you send your Compassion Kids?
