Well V week was a bit limited in activity. I am finding that as we are nearing the end of the alphabet our gusto is leaving. I think I will try combining some of the last letters into the next two weeks and be done with this theme.
Our first day of V we had on of our favorite friends stop in (The mom's had coffee and this mom got her nails done) and the boys created vases with their DLTK templates.
First each boy colored their V with crayon
Then "watered" it with thinned blue paint.
The last step was to stamp some flowers into the vase. (which for some reason I don't have a picture of. My nails must have been wet :))
The big hit activity of the week was learning about volcanoes.
We read Volcanoes on Earth over and over again. I really though it would be to complicated for Hudson but he has now added eruption, lava and magma to his vocabulary.
We made an exploding volcano using 2 cups a foil pan some baking soda and vinegar.
Here is my little mad scientist pouring in the vinegar.
Other fun and blog worthy things we did this week are:
Filled out Operation Christmas Child Boxes!!!
For a list of what's in them stop over at the Palace and check out the full length story :)
Hudson also made Christmas cards for each of the children who will be receiving our boxes.
And we carried on with our Kumon books.
There must be more and I just didn't have the camera out :)

A great week. I love the volcano!
I think it is so neat that you participated in Operation Christmas Child!
Looks like a fun week of learning!
What a great idea to have him make Christmas cards for each child receiving a box. That will really make him feel connected to those children. I really like this service project. Thank you so much for the idea.
I know what you mean about running out of steam toward the end of the alphabet {hence why I'm missing a few letters!}. :)
We're doing the boxes too with our kids this week hopefully!
Yeah, that camera can be quite the bear sometimes. I'm lucky my cell phone has a camera, and I often have that with me.....
I, too am struggling on "zest" and enthusiasm for abc related activities towards the end! Must be the norm:-). Good luck to you too!!
As always though, you had a fun week!!
Love the volcano picture!!! Looks like you had a great week :)
Love the volcano and Christmas Child shoebox. It's awesome that Hudson learns early how to give back.
What a blessing to do a service to others. Great week! Don't worry sometimes we have weeks where there's "no steam" left...
