Number Blocks

I love the games you can make up with wooden number blocks.
Seriously my dear friend found these for me at the dump and I use them all the time.

For this game I set out  some of the one blocks that have pictures of cherries on them.
Hudson then counted the cherries and chose the correct number from his pile to match.
He was able to check if he was right because the 5 cherries side by side were the same size as the five block (the 4 is the same size as 4 cherries...etc)

We do have numbers up to 10 but we are continuing to take it slowly with the numbers. :)

I've never seen these, but they look fabulous! Do you know where you can buy them?

Those are great blocks. Wish I had some. Where could one find them. OOh, I could do this with the cuisenaire rods if I wrote the number on each rod....

I haven't seen blocks like that either, but they would be a great learning tool.

You are lucky to find such a treasure at the dump - it should definitely help Hudson with numbers.

That is super cool! Now, I'm thinking how I could design something like that.
PS: Love the blog background, when did you change it?
