Noah's Ark Unit Study Day 1

I am so excited to start a Noah's Ark unit study with Hudson.  There is just so much potential for activities and learning.
Today we covered 4ish subjects.  (I say 4ish because one of activities is science and art:))

Activity #1
Felt Board Story (language)
Ok I admit I need to get my bum in gear and make a felt board.  For now we use our couch cushion however.  This Noah's Ark set is from Glitter Felt Stories. (Who is actually having a $5 sale that ends soon).  I love the various stories and tools Shelby has created there.  (I think I have 3 different sets so far :))

Activity #2
2x2 Patterns (math)
This was actually a fly by the seat of my pants math activity.  Hudson is alternating 2 of each color of these little blocks.

Activity #3
Color mixing (art and science)

This was the highlight of our school time today.  I just love it when Hudson truly learns something he didn't know before.  I started out with 2 blobs of yellow paint on one piece of paper.  Then I added blue to one and
and red to the other allowing Hudson to mix each of the color combinations.  We used a second piece of paper to mix blue and red.

Hudson was amazed that mixing 2 colors made a third color.  So FUN!

Stay tuned for more of our Noah's Ark Unit Study!

Looks like you had some fun lessons. I will have to check out the link. I made a felt board several years ago out of an old picture frame. I may have to re-post that on P of P.
