Frugal Spelling Activity

Materials:
Plastic or paper cups
Sharpie Marker
letter tiles (like from scrabble or another word game)

Preparation:
1. Using the sharpie write a different word on each of the cups.  They can range from easy to challenging. Ours were:

mom
dad
Hudson

2. Fill each cup with the correct letter tiles to spell the word written on the cup.

How to play:
Give your child the cups and have them arrange the letters to spell the word.  Then (if they need help) help them sound out and read the word.
